It’s back for summer, for only $8.90.

Ballad Boy MIA this Thursday

Our resident jazz legend Des – aka Ballad Boy – will be vibing up the Old Museum instead of the Hut this Thursday with Step It Up. Check them out and you might even like to go along to one of their upcoming gigs around South East Queensland.

Business will continue as usual but we'll be closed from the 23rd of December, reopening on the 29th.

An old favourite returns

Our Spring Fried Rice, uniquely flavoured with the leaf of the Toona tree (a relative of Ceder popular in Asia), has been a popular dish at Loving Hut Mount Gravatt almost since it opened. It comes and goes with seasonal variability, and you'll now be able to order it again, or try it for the first time!

Thanks for taking us up on our free Cheese Pie offer if you did... it's all over now. Nothing to see here folks, except a shop full of delicious, unique, environmentally friendly, humane and healthy food!

Welcome back Tran!

We're happy to welcome back Tran, who was the creative force behind Loving Hut when it opened! She makes a mean Satay Nuggets and Golden Curry, which are both back on the menu.

Brown rice in store, as an option or individually

You can now order brown rice instead of white for $1, or on its own for $2.70. Brown rice is the preferred option for health conscious people, for it's higher fibre, lower GI and higher nutritional value. There are also environmental advantages as it is much less processed.

New Raw Chocolate Pie

There is also now raw chocolate pie in our display, just dying to show you how tasty it is. It's been a hit so far.
Hope to see you again soon!

As more and more people hear about the environmental and health benefits of the veggie lifestyle, and the tastiness of Loving Hut’s dishes, our little restaurant just keeps getting busier.

Have you been impressed with Loving Hut as a business? If so, why not vote for them on the Quest Business Acheiver Awards?

The ballot closes on the 27th of this month, so head to http://www.questawards.com.au/ today.

Everyone here is very happy to be reaching more people with a life-changing message. Together, we can reach even more. What a team!

Thanks for your support, from everyone at Loving Hut.

That's right, those pieces of paper in the suggestion box kept piling up an it was clear you wanted to see them again - and in this case, it was arranged. Thanks to our dear customers who have been helping us along with valuable suggestions like these.

Dumplings are available to order at the time of writing, and enquire about Samosas in store (or check the 'Snacks' menu).

Important!

Or at least we think it is.

Don't miss Green Earth Day. It's happening on Saturday at the Albion Peace centre, which is not far from the Albion train station (so not driving is not an excuse to miss Brisbanes only officially vegan environmental festival).

You will find the best vegan food from across Australia waiting for you, so prepare empty your wallet and fill your tummy in a day celebrating pioneer vegan businesses and the greatness of vegan food and the green life.

Unfortunately, Loving Hut can't make it to the festival this year, but we're there in spirit (and sponsorship!) and know you'll have a great green day out.

Volunteers?

If you've got an excess of energy and would like to help out at the festival, there's the possibility of joining the GED volunteers, or even jumping behind the counter for some paid work with some of the stall holders. Just get in touch with Leigh Chantelle of Green Earth Group, if that's you. 0412 357 051 or info@greenearthday.net.

He's around a fair bit of the time so please say g'day.

Wanted: assistant chef

Check out the Employment page for information on the most recently available position at Loving Hut. In short, the restaurant is in need of a talented, passionate wok jockey.

The cleanup is well underway with a volunteer turnout so huge that there were too many for organizers to cater for.

On Janulary 13 Loving Hut Brisbane also did its part, teaming up with local members of the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association to cater 325 meals for flood victims sheltering at a local relief center,

Delicious vegan Spaghetti Bolognese, gluten free noodles and french baguettes were on the menu.

When it rains, it pours.

It's been reported that the extreme weather fueling the flood waters is an combination of the local effects of La Nina, and the effects of global warming.

Although no one weather event can be directly attributed to climate change, many scientists agree that increasing patterns of extreme weather are global.

Thanks to all volunteers, living up to the spirit of Loving Hut and the humanitarian example of Supreme Master Ching Hai. An extra special note of thanks to Loving Hut regular Chris Jackson who provided transport for the food and volunteers. On ya Chris!
